How To Get Rid Of Silverfish?

Silverfish also known as fishmoth can be found literally anywhere in the house. They thrive on almost all the things. We often do find them everywhere in the house. They are about half an inch in size and their movement resembles that of the fish and they have a shining appearance and hence they are known as silverfish.

Ways to get Rid of the Silverfish:

There are a lot of ways to get rid of the silverfish in the house. Before we can get rid of them we should understand that what the conditions that are favourable for them are. If we make those conditions unfavorable then they will not be able to attack out house. The main reason for their presence in our house is that they find their food over there. Some of the ways to get rid of them are:

1. Keep the old papers and books away or clean - Silverfish feeds on the old papers and the books and we often find them in our book selves and when we open our books as because there is presence of carbohydrates in the books and the silverfish thrives on them. We should keep the old newspapers and the books out of the house.

2. Remove humidity from the house - Silverfish lives in humid environment and whenever there is damp or any humid place in the house we are bound to find silverfish over there. That is why we find them under our mattresses and pillows and in the kitchen. If we can keep these places dry them the silverfish will not be able to survive.

3. Using Insecticides or sprays - The other option that we have to repel the silverfish is that we can use sprays in and around the place where we find the silverfish so that they will be poisoned and hence they will die.
